Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
Pursuing a PhD involves a series of challenges, including coursework, comprehensive exams, research proposals, dissertation writing, and then navigating the job market. This panel session offers students the opportunity to learn from diverse experienced faculty and recent graduates who have effectively navigated the PhD journey. By having panelists share personal narratives and strategies for navigating their own PhD/job search, this session aims to surface the invisible structures that can both hinder and help success in education research. As future scholars tasked with reimagining education research, graduate students must be equipped with networks and community based knowledge. Our investment in emerging scholars equips them with practical knowledge to navigate creating their own vision for education research.
