The session acknowledges the problematic history of standardized assessments and honors the scholars who challenged them. Attendees will explore key figures in assessment history through an interactive "gallery walk," examining their contributions and legacies. Panelists will then share their visions for "Liberating Testing Tomorrow," offering concrete examples and guiding principles for building more equitable assessment systems. A Q&A session will provide further opportunity for discussion. This session aims to equip attendees with historical knowledge and actionable insights, fostering a deeper understanding of assessment's role in shaping a more just educational future.
