Session Type: Roundtable Session
This roundtable focuses on linguistic justice and heritage language education in multicultural contexts. Storytelling is presented as a means of reclaiming multilingual voices, while heritage Spanish speakers’ experiences are examined against the backdrop of federal accountability. Additional studies explore the link between language, belonging, and well-being in South Africa, and the challenges faced by diverse learners in gifted programs. The discussion foregrounds how educational systems can move beyond tokenism to embrace linguistic equity.
