This invited symposium invites education researchers, scholars, and practitioners from a diverse background to examine the most complex issues and challenges facing the spectrum of today’s educational contexts. Guided by the theme of “One World, One Family: Constructing a New Vision of the Global Village from the Asian historical & Philosophical Perspective”, eight international scholars will seek solutions on how to rebuild a more harmonious world through educational reform. Together, this session integrates various perspectives including traditional Chinese medicine, Daoist cosmos of oneness, China’s higher education system, Japan's cultural history, mindful truth, South and South-East Asia indigenous and Buddhist philosophy, and positive psychology education, and present a cross-disciplinary, integrative, holistic, and multi-faceted approach to education.
