The 2026 AERA theme, "Unforgetting Histories and Imagining Futures: Constructing a New Vision for Education Research," underscores the need for new research on Indigenous issues in education. Understanding history is vital for fostering equitable learning environments for Indigenous students. In our work, we are reminded that our past informs current challenges and future possibilities. Our invited panel members will discuss their doctoral research, focusing on Indigenous perspectives to empower marginalized communities and reshape educational practices rooted in Indigenous knowledge. This approach fosters innovation and amplifies previously excluded voices, paving the way for a more inclusive future in education research.
