Listening, Learning, and Leading: Graduate Students in AERA

Abstract

This session brings together leaders from the Graduate Student Council (GSC) for a collaborative listening and learning dialogue. Designed as an open forum, it provides graduate students the opportunity to share their needs, challenges, and aspirations within AERA while gaining insights into the structures and opportunities that shape graduate student engagement. In addition to hearing directly from participants, GSC leaders will clarify opaque aspects of AERA—such as division and SIG involvement, proposal review, service opportunities, and leadership pathways. The session aims to build transparency, community, and shared purpose among graduate student members, ultimately informing GSC initiatives and AERA’s broader equity efforts.
