Abstract

This session uses meta-analysis and large-scale data to reveal persistent inequities and within-group variation in Black students’ schooling. Presenters examine disciplinary disproportionality before and after COVID-19 and analyze achievement trajectories across U.S. districts. Together, these studies challenge deficit framings by pairing quantitative rigor with equity-focused interpretation, offering new metrics for accountability that honor Black learners’ complexity and context.
