Dr. A. Wade Boykin spearheaded the Talent Development SIG to focuses on research that will ultimately "place students at-promise" for academic success! In this vein, this symposium session highlights factors that impact student engagement in learning and performance. The session will explore how cultural assets and resilient identities among minoritized students can be leveraged to transform classrooms into nurturing environments that optimize student engagement, motivation, and achievement. By translating these insights into actionable educational reforms, we aim to improve educational equity and enhance the schooling experience, ensuring every student has access to opportunities that honor their potential, dignity, and inherent strengths.
