The Research on the Superintendency SIG 97 is proud to share three papers during our 2026 paper session focused on how Black sisterhood networks have supported and sustained current and former Black women in the superintendency, how data from new superintendents reveals they are balancing their historical roles with more emphasis on fiscal matters and communication, and how through the lessons of New Orleans following post-Hurricane Katrina through the COVID-19 crisis valuable lessons can be learned through historical document analysis and reflective narratives with a reform-driven superintendent.
