Abstract

Educational opportunity is shaped by policies that influence where families live, how school boundaries are drawn, and how early learning options are designed. This AIR Opportunity Fund Lunch and Learn features lightning insights from AIR, USC, and New America on transitional kindergarten expansion in California, cross-sector housing/education integration through Choice Neighborhoods in Detroit, and district border redesign scenarios to reduce resource gaps and expand access. Attendees will leave with research-backed takeaways and practical policy considerations for building more connected, inclusive, and well-resourced learning environments.
