given the paucity of studies concerning the leadership development of Asian international female students attending the counselor education programs, we conducted a qualitative study with the aim to explore the leadership development experiences of these students. Three domains and five core ideas emerged from the data. Domains included perception of professional leadership, internal and external factors, and advice to counselor education programs. Five core ideas consisted of positive personality, leadership skills, family and schools, cultural unawareness of leadership, and teach leadership. Conclusions: considering the gender and ethnicity identity represented in the current sample, it is important for counselor educators to understand the social and cultural context of Asian international female students when engaging in teaching, mentoring, and supervising activities.
