What Does a Useful Practitioner Journal Article Look Like? Perceptions From Teachers

Abstract

The research to practice gap can be shrunk when practitioners use professional materials to guide their own implementation of research- or evidence-based practices. Printed educational materials, and more specifically practitioner journal articles, are one source of potentially useful guidance resources across disciplines. Interestingly, there is little empirical direction offered practitioner journal authors on what constitutes a useful presentation format. This presentation highlights findings from a survey of general and special education preservice teacher candidates and inservice teachers.
