Residency Reflections: Engaging in Reflective Journaling During the Residency Year

Abstract

In-depth reflection of one’s teaching practice is imperative to improving their skills to better meet the needs of their students. Reflective journaling is one viable strategy teachers can use to strengthen their abilities to reflect on their practice during their pre-service teacher preparation. This session examines the reflective journaling process that one teacher residency program used during the participants’ residency experience. Discussions related to this study’s process and findings will occur. Implications for instruction and research will be explored.
