The effect of loans on GPA and attainment has been found to be negative, positive, or mixed. Meanwhile, little research has been done to understand the role of work hours in this relationship. This study will address the gap, focusing on the effects of work hours in the relationship between loans and GPA and between loans and attainment. This study raises concerns about the debts that student take and the time they spend working during college, which finally affects their overall success. They often come from underrepresented groups, so the study calls for a discreet look at financial aid and employment policy for low SES students to improve their college experiences while contributing to the diversity of campuses.
