Abstract

This presentation provides a reimagining of teacher education through innovative, multi-sector pathway partnerships. We believe it is necessary to continue the reimagining of educational research through collaborative partnerships to examine the new and oftentimes persistent problems we face in the multiple and overlapping educational sectors in our country. In strict fidelity with the call, our proposal describes the ongoing work between educational researchers, practitioners, school administrators, a four-year regional and open access college, and a state department of education to address the persistent problems of teacher workforce diversity and cultural responsiveness. We do so through a very intentional and unique educator pathway program we call STEP: Students to Teachers through Educator Pathways.
