Linking Researchers and State Education Agencies Through the Common Education Data Standards

Abstract

This presenter is a researcher and former State Education Agency staff, and now serves as US Education Department’s Program Officer overseeing the Common Education Data Standards. During this workshop, she will discuss the challenges faced when researchers request and use data from multiple state education agencies. She will also describe the benefits of using CEDS and will link those benefits to the challenges researchers face.
Researchers can expect to understand and be able to convey the benefits of incorporating CEDS tools into their own research projects.
