Abstract

This qualitative study explores the perceptions of online education amongst faculty in higher education during the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic, while horrific, allowed faculty in higher education the opportunity reconceptualize online teaching and learning. Our findings indicate that faculty utilized the pandemic to develop new pedagogical methods and understandings. We frame these finding through the essential elements framework to demonstrate how online higher education may need to be reconceptualized in post-COVID19 higher education.
