The Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test (PPVT) series has been increasingly adopted in second language acquisition and bilingual studies. However, very few of studies have investigated validity evidence when these tests were administered to bilinguals, especially Chinese-English bilinguals. Therefore, this study was designed to evaluate the validity evidence of the newest version of the series, the PPTV-5 (Dunn & Dunn, 2019) for Chinese-English bilinguals, along with its score reliability. Results suggest that PPVT-5 has a high score reliability (.99) and there is considerable evidence with PPVT-5 to support its use among Chinese-Bilingual children in the Canadian sample. In conclusion, when using PPVT-5 to assess Chinese-English bilinguals’ English receptive vocabulary, the score interpretation might not be perplexing.
