This study focused on administrators’ perspectives on equity in the leadership pipeline. Twelve administrators (district- and school-based) were interviewed twice. Themes included: equity simplicity, ahistorical thinking, distributive justice. The lack of a complex discourse of equity related to diversity and conceptions of justice as distributive, aided participants in describing individual employment activities (i.e., social mobility and placement of administrators, fit, grooming). Their attention to events-focused change suggests a proficient level of equity-mindedness and leadership activity for these veteran administrators of one school district.
