Abstract

Effective leadership at the system and school level is known to make a difference in student learning yet there is a need for ongoing leadership professional learning for leaders. In this two-year action-based research study, researchers collaborated with a school district as part of a research-practice partnership to design and explore a collaborative professional learning model aimed at addressing leadership standards. Three methods of data collection were used in this study and included surveys, interviews, and focus groups. This study serves to inform researchers and district-level leadership seeking models for sustained continuing professional learning for leaders, building leadership capacity at the system level, and contributing to the body of research on leadership preparation and professional learning.
