This study utilized data from the Community College Survey of Student Engagement to examine the extent to which socioacademic integrative moments, transfer capital, and transfer sending culture predict sense of belonging and support among vertical transfer-seeking community college students in North Carolina. We adopted a critical and intersectional quantitative approach by centering race/ethnicity and examining the intersectional life experiences and identities among Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, and white students. Multiple regression models indicated some differences by racial/ethnic group but affirmed the importance of socioacademic integration and transfer advising. Suggestions for community college faculty and transfer personnel are also discussed.
