We present a robust university-district partnership for leadership preparation, and lay out a framework of minimum conditions we found to be central to the design, launch, and implementation. Our framework includes goals, theory of action, and resources, with resources including point people, time, money, an improvement-focused leadership preparation curriculum, and feedback loops. For each, we define our terms and then use our case to elucidate meaning. We then discuss how feedback loops, together with ontological humility, allowed us to navigate the challenges of implementation. While the paper does not focus on our program outcomes per se, we establish at the outset that we have had positive results at the student, candidate, district system, and program/partnership levels.
