Abstract

This qualitative study explored the experiences of refugees, immigrants, and New Americans in New Hampshire in their homes, schools, jobs, and communities. This study built upon the limited research available on refugees and immigrants in New Hampshire and offers suggestions to inform future policy at the school, district, community, and State levels. The research design included a flyer to recruit participants and unstructured interviews and photo elicitation to collect data on cultural integration experiences of New Americans in New Hampshire. Data analysis uncovered five themes around cultural integration and found implications for educational opportunities that add to the current body of research on refugees, immigrants, and New Americans in New Hampshire.
