Abstract

This research focuses on the design and implementation of a collective self-study project undertaken by 14 teacher educators at the University of XXX. The aim of the study was to develop a discursive space among us that would mobilize the diverse understandings and experiences of the group toward the goal of developing a framework for multicultural education. Data resources collected were 1) self-interviews, 2) art based sculptures and presentations of them, 3) poems created from the thoughts and ideas of participants and 4)group interviews. Developing a discursive space for the teacher educators allowed us to get to know each other’s ideas as well as one‘s own, and based on this distill a shared focus we were willing to commit to.
