COVID-19 Leverage Effect on Expert and Beginning Teachers' Resilience

Abstract

In the last decade, special emphasis has been placed in the educational field on the concept of resilience as a way of facing the daily difficulties of teaching. Moreover, the COVID-19 outbreak has positioned this construct in a more relevant position as new challenging scenarios have affected teachers’ professionalism and identity. Even so, most research studies on teacher preparation implicitly deal with this term, integrating it into concepts such as emotional competencies or coping skills. The main purpose of this study is to analyze teacher resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic in the specialized literature and check whether there are differences between beginning teachers’ resilience and expert teachers’ resilience, as well as in the resilience of expert teachers before and during COVID-19
