Sustainable consumption behavior of young adults plays a decisive role, but there is a lack of research. Sixty young adults were asked about their knowledge, their judgment of workability and means to improvement of publicly provided strategies for sustainable consumption. Their responses were categorized according to the Sustainable Consumption Behavior-Cube. A deeper understanding of young adults‘ sustainable consumption processes could be won as they can be splited with more detailed aspects of the consumption phases and different areas of industry. The analyses are run quantitatively and qualitatively. They show that reasons for not applying sustainable consumption behavior are especially a persistance in habits and a lack of knowlege or insufficient information. The results also give hints for designing learning opportunities.
