Floods, bushfires, plastics in the ocean – the devastating state of our environment constantly reminds us of the lack of relationship between humans and the planet. The Learning with Place conceptual framework generates conditions for innovative pedagogies to emerge that support building deep relationships with the earth. These relationships activate practices supportive of living well together in this time of earth’s crisis. Place stories from the Out and About research project offer examples of the Learning with Place framework and provocations for thinking about environmental justice in multiple contexts beyond the initial research project.
