Are We Doing It Better? Social Studies Teacher Educators' LGBTQIA+ Self-Efficacy

Abstract

This study reports on the self-efficacy of methods instructors (n=513) in teaching LGBTQIA+ topics in their methods coursework. Through the use of 13 Likert-style items and open-ended survey questions the data revealed that SS teacher educators have a higher sense of self-efficacy in this area than those in other content areas. Implications and additional research needed for greater inclusion of LGBTQIA+ topics in methods coursework is shared.
