Examining Knowledge Mobilization Among District Research Leaders

Abstract

Using data gathered from a pre-existing network of district research leaders (DRLs), the objective of this study is to examine when knowledge mobilization occurs and under what conditions is knowledge mobilization successful within school districts. This study enlists a survey in order to elicit DRLs’ perceptions of knowledge mobilization within their respective districts. Findings provide information on the (a) conditions that enable successful knowledge mobilization, (b) the knowledge mobilization activities DRLs are actually engaging in within their districts, (c) the tangible outputs of DRLs’ knowledge mobilization activities, and (d) what happens as a result of DRLs’ knowledge mobilization efforts – specifically whether and how research knowledge was used.
