The current challenges, e.g. social distancing, imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic may affect mental health and increase the need for resilience not only in the general population but also among university students. University students tend to experience mental health issues and loneliness frequently. Against that background, we examined a novel coaching program, which aims at promoting resilience competency and well-being among university students using evidence-based psychological strategies. The study revealed how university students can strengthen their well-being and develop resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it produced suggestions for the future improvement of the online coaching program based on students’ feedback.
