"Because Representation Matters": Supporting Black Students to and Through STEM Graduate School

Abstract

This qualitative study centers the voices of 20 Black graduate students and explores their pathways to STEM. Many of the participants encountered anti-Blackness at some point, however, we draw from the positive experiences that allowed them to persist through graduate school and offer strategies for recruitment and retention of Black students in STEM.
