Abstract

The CoCreator App serves as a platform to stimulate scaffolded collaboration on formative assessment practices between students and maker educators in the context of an informal or formal (school-based) makerspace setting. Students would use the CoCreator App to brainstorm ideas for their maker projects, reflect on their progress, and document their decision-making processes. The CoCreator App has been designed using learning sciences and cognitive theories on epistemic forms that stimulate mental models for brainstorming to documentation. This paper traces the design and development process of the CoCreator App, following a design-based research methodology. This research study is based in Singapore, an urban city-state in Southeast Asia.
