Abstract

The number of international students enrolled in American higher education systems has been increasing. Researchers have reported that they have severe mental health problems and acculturation issues when compared with their American counterparts. The outbreak of the COVID-19 further aggravates their vulnerable situation. It is critical to provide culturally sensitive mental health services to help them cope with discrimination and promote mental health and the overall wellbeing of international students. This paper presents a mindfulness-based group intervention strategy to work with international students and shares the measurement of the effectiveness of this intervention.
