Shared Words, Shared Practice, Shared Dreams: Equity-Focused School Improvement Through S-STEP

Abstract

This self-study of teacher education practices (S-STEP) explores a two-year-long effort to enhance a regional equity-focused school improvement project designed to increase teacher and student learning through the use of instructional coaching as a model for in-service teacher education. The full-length paper explores in-service teacher education practices that demonstrated school improvement equity goal attainment within the collected S-STEP evidence. Strategies for improving the equity-focused in-service teacher education of instructional coaches are developed and elucidated.
