Abstract

Authors suggest the development of a framework to help understand the experiences of students who have been incarcerated, gang-involved, and/or challenges with substance abuse. This framework seeks to highlight the student’s strengths using an anti-deficit model for researching and working with this student population as they navigate higher education.
