Abstract

Using narrative inquiry methodology, this study examines the teaching of lynching through a lens of critical whiteness and abolitionist education. The study, set in schools near historic lynching sites in the American South investigated how teachers taught lynching and how social context, student needs, and their whiteness impacted teaching decisions.
