Examining First-Generation Students' Transition From an Early College High School Program

Abstract

We investigate transitions of first-generation college students (FGCS) from an Early College High School (ECHS) located in an industrial city in Southeast Texas. We describe the various institutional agents who fostered student’s college and career ambitions. Findings broaden the field’s understanding of how FGCS navigated the transition from high school to college during the COVID-19 pandemic.
