The paper presents the first-person narratives and experiences of the authors, who bring not only their academic training but also their personal experiences to the forefront. Scratch a theory and one will inevitably find a personal narrative behind the research. The session will provide an opportunity to explore how these personal narratives can be used to better understand the human contexts in which disabilities are experienced: at home, in school, and in the workplace. These contributions are likely to be more detailed and personal than the more traditionally academic discussions that are based on traditional educational research methods. These stories told will bring to life and provide a context for understanding the more traditional empirical on disability and school leadership.
