Virtual communities of practice (VCoPs) supported educators during the COVID-19 pandemic and the resurgent movement for racial justice that arose in 2020. Five VCoPs of practitioners and researchers with significant geographic reach reduced isolation and professional insularity and provided a medium to develop crisis response resilience for the abrupt pandemic and for persistent institutional racism. Findings indicate that the VCoPs helped serving and emerging leaders to develop critical consciousness of educational structures and pedagogy.
