Studies have shown that Latina faculty have negative racialized experiences while teaching at their institutions. Most studies capture their experiences at predominantly white institutions (PWI). Using a counter-storytelling approach, this paper describes the racialized experiences of four Latina faculty at a small, private Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). Findings are presented through vignettes and three emergent themes to reveal how this HSI contributes to the racialized and negative experiences of its Latina faculty. This study contributes to the call to hire more faculty of color at HSIs in order to increase servingness for faculty and students.
