The COVID-19 pandemic upended schooling for teachers and students during the 2020-21 school year. For many teachers, a switch to remote instruction meant a halt to professional learning experiences. We examined the development of a community of practice during the COVID-19 pandemic and how the three defining aspects of a community of practice were reified during teachers’ participation in the professional development. We qualitatively analyzed semi-structured interviews and Google Form surveys. Teachers reified their community of practice during the COVID-19 pandemic. While some aspects of the community of practice were more general to working together as part of the studio day professional development, others were specific to the ongoing pandemic.
