"No Time! There's Never Any Time!" Conceptualizing a Critical Feminist Pandemic Pedagogy Through Collaborative Autoethnography

Abstract

Through collaborative autoethnography (Hughes & Pennington, 2017), we analyze our experiences in a qualitative methods course centered on feminist theories during the fall 2020 semester, amidst the pandemic and sociopolitical tumult. As graduate students and the instructor of the course, we used our experiences in the virtual classroom during the semester to conceptualize a feminist pandemic pedagogy. We explore the concepts of time, community, disclosure, and vulnerability and how they manifested in our classrooms and lives to comprise this pedagogy, and call for a feminist pandemic pedagogy beyond the current moment.
