Teacher preparation programs continue to struggle to prepare preservice teachers to address their cultural deficit perspectives and support the learning of students from historically marginalized backgrounds. To address this issue, research often focuses on the equity-orientated dispositions, knowledge, and practices of preservice teachers. While such research is important, it is limiting in that it fails to examine the individuals directly responsible for designing and implementing teacher preparation curriculum. Addressing this gap in the literature, this quantitative study explores the equity-orientated frameworks, theories, and theorists that teacher educators incorporate in their teaching. This study also explored the relationship between teacher educators’ dispositions toward equity and their teaching practices.
