Toward a Hard Reset for Culturally Disruptive Research During the Pandemics

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic as well as deep-rooted challenges of power, race, and culture provided our research team with unique opportunities to reflect upon and disrupt our own teaching and learning practices. In this paper, we present our work as a research practice partnership to create a culturally disruptive curriculum amidst global crises. Drawing upon critical insights from the two educators on our team, we present our findings about the new tensions, disruptions, self-discoveries, and innovations we experienced during the pandemics of COVID-19, systemic racism, economic recession, and climate change (Ladson-Billings, 2021).
