Looking Backward/Dreaming Forward

Abstract

This inquiry seeks to expand the platform for research and practice across community and school spaces. It does so through engaging in a collective inquiry process that highlights the possibilities of LGBTQ+ Youth of Colors’ futures as they dream forward through multimodal composing for public scholarship and action. In this critical participatory inquiry project, we address the emerging and future identities of Queer and Trans Youth of Color as they take up multimodal composing and Queer Theory to highlight Queer Futurity. Through our intentionally built community-engaged scholarship, we reflect back on the work the collective has taken up to dream forward into the work of cultivating concrete utopias.
