Cultivating equitable education systems for all students will demand that we ground our teacher curriculum (as spaces or otherwise) in alternative epistemologies, in ways that are responsive to teacher needs, and that sustain the commitments of justice-oriented teachers. In this paper, I show how through the creation and facilitation of teacher PD, an Endarkened Feminist Third Space actualized; that is, a space composed of reciprocity, surrender, and a willingness to revise one’s performances in the present. Specifically, I discuss the actualization of a Third Space (Bhabha, 2004; hooks, 1990; Wang, 2015) imprinted by endarkened feminist epistemologies (Dillard, 2000, 2006) as a site of curriculum within teacher PD and how it supported teacher and facilitator learning, action, and social justice teaching.
