Sat, April 23, 4:15 to 5:45pm PDT (4:15 to 5:45pm PDT), SIG Virtual Rooms, SIG-Mentorship and Mentoring Practices Virtual Paper Session Room

Abstract

The overarching purpose of the research is to understand how novice teachers develop
decisional capital during their first three years of induction into the teaching profession through a three year mentoring program. The secondary purpose is to create instruments, both qualitative
and quantitative, to understand the development of decisional capital in novice teachers. Understanding strong teacher development is a key to retaining high quality teachers in the field. Additionally, understanding better ways of mentoring is also powerful.
