Abstract

The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore the ways in which private funding can support family engagement initiatives for publicly funded early childhood education programs. Using a case study design, three overarching themes emerged from participant interviews: (a) passion, (b) relationships, and (c) change. The findings revealed that passion is integral to a successful partnership, that relationships serve to support and measure success, and that such investments affect change across stakeholders. This research has direct implications for funding entities that seek to support family engagement in the field of early childhood education and adds to the growing body of research focused on equitable support for families of young children in educational settings.
