In an effort to cultivate equitable education systems for the 21st Century, this paper presentation will inform and inspire others to reimagine and create systems that view opportunity and education as a human right. The authors share the mixed methods study of one PK-12 school district's journey toward a place of recognition of the inequitable outcomes faced by many of our minoritized and marginalized students and family members, their efforts to authentically engage families and communities as partners in the development and Board of Education approval of a robust Equity Policy. They conclude the presentation with two powerful and tangible first impacts of the educational equity policy implementation.
