Abstract

Producing robust research is part and parcel of a uroboros-like process of refining one’s conceptual and theoretical framework through data analysis. While the research literature has recorded many intricately interlaced steps of conducting research—including mastering what is already known in one’s respective field, crafting well-thought research questions, developing a research design, and collecting data—understanding how teams of researchers, that comprise individuals of varying degrees of research-related education, engage in and with the process of a principled and transparent data analysis has remained under-reported. Against this backdrop, this paper focuses on the work of a group of researchers and on their organically analyzing a body of 73 preliminary interviews on the integration of women in engineering.
